Free … An Artist’s Perspective

Today, we had the opportunity to experience the vocal gifts of two great gospel artists. We were joined by Pastor John “JP” Parker (Close To Your Heart) of Charlotte, NC, and Angela Elizabeth (Free) of Boston.

Both of them shared a little bit about themselves, said “Happy Easter” and shared their songs. Both were awesome segments, but I just met PJ today, and have known Angela “Angie” Elizabeth for a long time. It gave me a different appreciation for what she shared in her segment.

Easter or what some call “Resurrection” Sunday according to Christian beliefs, is the day that Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ after being crucified three days before. Many Christians refer to Christ’s resurrection as an example of God’s ability to free them from life’s struggles. Angie, talked a lot about her life experiences and how her process of becoming “Free”.

In this segment, Angie shares some of her personal stories, including her academic, relationship, and professional challenges.

She goes into some detail about each area, but what we were really able to hear is that despite life’s challenges, she is “Free”
