We Can’t Become Numb

It can’t become a norm either…

A 16-year-old female was shot and killed in Dorchester last night, and I am concerned it doesn’t seem like the rattle of hearing about a female or child being shot, is like it used to be. We cannot become numb and accept this as a normal part of our culture.

She was shot in broad daylight in the Codman Square area of Boston. This is our neighborhood, and we should be able to live peaceably, and when these incidents happen, all of us should be outraged. Not only outraged, but become more committed to being organized for the purpose of raising our voices to hold ourselves accountable, and work with entities whose job it is, is to “help”.

If you need trauma services, contact the Boston Public Health Commission at 617 431 0125.
